Piraeus - Syros –Tinos – Mykonos - Paros - Naxos

She is the first Korean-built ship in Greek service, ordered by Strintzis Lines at Daewoo yards as “Superferry Ithaki”. Launched instead as “Blue Star Ithaki”, she was intended to serve the Cephalonia connections from Killini, then Strintzis decided rightly to put her on Rafina - Syros - Paros - Naxos - Santorini line. Two news about this ship: she won the award as best Aegean ship from the magazine “Efoplistis” defeating ships as “Lato” and “El. Venizelos” (a very strange thing but, considering the fact that the Adriatic winner is “Superfast III” which beated the Minoan High Speed Ferries probably there is a reason…) but, above all, the new line operated from December 2000, which means the return of Strintzis Lines in Piraeus on the new daily service to Paros, Naxos and Santorini passing also via Syros and Ios two times a-week. Departing from Piraeus at 07.30 she arrives in Santorini at 14.30 (the ships departing at 08.00 never arrive at Santorini before 16.30/17.00) and is back in Piraeus at 22.45, ending the round-trip in a record time. After the arrival of two new Daewoo ships, the “Blue Star Ithaki” was moved on a new line connecting Piraeus to the nothern Cyclades: Syros, Tinos, Mykonos, Paros and Naxos, substituting on wintertime the “Superferry II” on Rafina Line. A big difect is that she has no berth accommodation: does Blue Star ferries think that is forbidden to travel overnight sleeping in a comfortable cabin?
