Nothing more to add at those written for
“Blue Star 1”; this ship, delivered in July 2000, should have been named
“Superferry Pacific”. Employed on Ancona – Igoumenitsa – Patras line also for 2002
summer, has lost her sister, which was deployed on Piraeus – Patmos – Leros –
Kos – Rhodes line, substituted at Ancona by the newly built “Superfast XI”. After
25 years of continuous service on Ancona Line, starting in 1976 with F/B “Ionian
Star”, this is the last ferry sailing on that line for Strintzis: in March
2003, after the completion of refits of Superfast Ferries, she’ll be deployed
on Piraeus – Chania run, saling from Piraeus daily at 16.30 (arrival 21.30) and
from Chania at 23.30 (arrival 05.00). I think that ANEK, sailing on that line
with far better ships, considering that it isn’t a line which needs
particularly fast ferries, would have easy life with this challenger, but we
must see…

The
“Blue Star 2” as it would have been in Strintzis colours with the name
“Superferry Pacific”
